We are saved through faith in the Jesus of the Bible and nothing else. Therefore, the front line battle for the Christian is the battle against unbelief. Every sin is the product of unbelief and must be diligently fought against through belief in the promises of God to those who believe in His Son for their salvation. We must become skilled at identifying our unbelief and finding promises in Scripture that we can trust in if we are to resist sin and keep the faith effectively. This is what the apostle Paul means when he says, "Fight the good fight of the faith."
